Cause of Yeast Infection
By Wendy Simons
There are many women who will experience vagianl itching. This itching is usually a warning about the possibility of a yeast infection. When you hear the term yeast infection what do you think of? Many people will wonder what exactly a yeast infection is. What is the cause of yeast infection?
There are a number of factors that will throw a women body out of sync. These imbalances are in many cases the cause of yeast infections in women. You will find that antibiotic treatments that are used for other conditions and illnesses can cause a yeast infection. The use of oral contraceptive while they are perhaps good for preventing a pregnancy can be considered as one of the causes also.
Many women will experience an imbalance to their body due to hot weather or even the type of clothing that they are wearing. These clothes that are of a non-ventilating nature will increase the moisture and warmth in your body especially in the vagina area. These conditions are yet another cause of yeast infection in women.
Some women may get yeast infections due to having sexual intercourse a number of times within a short time period. This is because your body has not yet had the time that it needs to return to a normal environment.
Some other factors that are the cause of yeast infection can include stress and suppressed immune systems. These include having HIV. Having a high carbohydrate intake can also be the cause of yeast infection. This is partially due to the high amounts of refined sugars and alcohol that may be present in the bodies.
You can also get yeast infections because of pregnancy and diabetes. In addition to these irritants like soap, various types of powders and new detergents will also be the cause of yeast infection.
These causes of yeast infection are annoying but they are treatable. In general you can use tablets like Diflucan to reduce the cause of yeast infection. Should this treatment not work then you have the option of treating your yeast infection with over the counter creams and suppositories like GyneLotrimin or even Monistat.
These medications once they are used in the right dosage will prevent the yeast infections from spreading. There will less chance of the cause of yeast infection from growing and spreading, therefore you should take the entire course of medication so that the yeast infection will subside and you will be cured of your yeast infection.
