The Importance of Yoga Instructions
By Elizabeth Penning
Exercises are meant to bring you good health, energy and vitality when done right and a lot of pain if not some serious injuries when done incorrectly. It is important to know how to perform an exercise in order to obtain results from it and yoga is one such exercise, which should not be practiced without precise yoga instructions.
The Right Practice
Yoga is an ancient practice introduced by Indian holy men who meditated for days together and thus trained their senses and body through the power of the mind. Yoga is mostly a training of your mind in order to control your body and its senses to perform exercises and thus, achieve desired results.
Yoga is not hard to follow or practice once you have learnt the basics. However, you cannot practice it without any yoga instructions as you can strain your muscles in the process. Only a qualified yoga instructor can advise you on yoga instructions as well as work with your personal specifics such as age, weight and other existing medical conditions in order to obtain the right yoga practice for you.
Join a Yoga Class
If you are a beginner join a yoga class where you will find the right yoga instructions as well as many other students from whom you can get inspired and learn even faster than you expected. Yoga classes are also available online or on DVD should you not be able to physically join a class. Online sessions and DVD’s are pretty good if you follow them precisely and regularly.
Yoga, just like any other exercise, will not have positive results if you don’t maintain a consistent practice, which should not be less than three times a week for at least 30 minutes or as otherwise suggested by your yoga instructor.
Helpful Tips
Yoga is an exercise that can be practiced by all age groups with ease and you will need the least amount of accessories in order to perform it. Here are a few items you may need for your yoga class; comfortable clothes to allow you to perform stretches and meditation, which may be uncomfortable in tight clothes, a yoga mat and preferably no shoes but if you must wear some, ensure you wear trainers.
Yoga instructions are a must for beginners but also when you wish to start a new yoga practice as getting the exercise right the first time is instrumental in obtaining results and not getting hurt in the process.
